Yahukimo - The Marine Task Forces of Infantry Battalion 6, part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, are actively conducting mobile security operations along the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, particularly in Yahukimo Regency, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Wednesday, October 17, 2024, the Bravo Post, led by Second Lieutenant Alter, conducted a Social Communication (Komsos) event with the children of Tomonsatu Village during a security patrol.
This Komsos initiative aims to build trust and cooperation between the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) and the local community, supporting the Indonesian Government’s program for accelerating development in the Papua region.
Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, Commander of the Marine Task Forces, emphasized the importance of the Soldiers’ attention to the basic needs of the community around the post. During their patrol, the Marines seized the opportunity to interact with the children in a friendly manner. Local parents shared updates about the security situation in Tomonsatu Village, reporting it as relatively safe and conducive. The residents expressed their happiness at the Soldiers' visit, with Simon Tabuni, a local, stating, “Thank you, Commander Marines. God bless, ” reflecting the strong bond between the community and the Task Forces.
